Our Mission

Vision & Mission

Harmony Bible Church exists to bring glory to God by being disciples and making disciples of Jesus Christ. We desire for this to occur in such a way that the transforming power of the gospel becomes evident in Southeast Iowa, West Central Illinois, and around the world.

CORE Values

  • Corporate worship (expository preaching, prayer, singing, giving, serving)
  • Corporate discipleship (small group discipleship, shepherding, leadership development)
  • Global discipleship (long and short-term cross-cultural missions, national leadership development & partnerships, church planting)
  • Community discipleship (word & deed ministry in Southeast Iowa & West Central Illinois)
  • Church multiplication (planting, partnering, multi-sites)

At Harmony Bible Church we are all about making disciples who love Jesus and live by the Gospel. What is the Gospel? The good news that Jesus rescues and redeems all things. More of the Gospel here.

Harmony Bible Church came into existence as an independent, evangelical church in 1957. As the name states, Harmony is a Bible church. Even though there are Bible churches all over the nation and in many foreign countries, it may be unclear what exactly a Bible church is.

A Bible church strives to base all its doctrine and practices on biblical principles alone. Harmony Bible Church does not rely on tradition, culture or creed to determine its form, functions or beliefs. Bible churches are autonomous and self-governing. The people of Harmony choose their own pastors and leaders and the church is free to follow God's Word without outside interference or authority.

We observe two ordinances: believers baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper. Since we are nondenominational, everyone who has trusted Jesus Christ as Savior is welcome to participate in our communion services.

We hold firmly to the foundations of historical Christianity and are committed to teaching the Word of God in a clear, relevant and life changing way.
