SENIOR PASTOR OF LARGE AND HEALTHY CHURCH

Harmony Bible Church is reaching our communities for Christ by actively demonstrating the love of God.  We have a wide variety of ministries to bless our communities and God has been blessing us in return.  We have an average weekly attendance of about 900, an excellent staff, a healthy lay leadership team, and a committed congregation.  

The new Senior Pastor will be primarily responsible for preaching, leading and vision casting.  He will lead a very healthy staff of five other pastors, and three directors.  He will be preaching to over 1,000 people weekly, in a state of the art facility.  

Harmony Bible Church is located in a rural setting in southeast Iowa.  However, we are only 20 minutes from Burlington (30,000 population), Mt. Pleasant (9,000 population), and Fort Madison (10,000 population).

We are looking for a spiritually mature man who meets the following requirements… Education MA minimum, MDIV or equivalent preferred. Experience Minimum 5 years in vocational ministry, some senior pastor experience required. Prefer experience in a large church, with multi-staff leadership responsibilities.

Giftedness: Must be gifted in preaching and visionary leading. Doctrine must fully support of our doctrinal position (see website) Vision & Values.

Must be in support of our current mission and vision (see website under “I’m new" and "Who We Are” tab)

Must be a man of exemplary integrity and spiritual maturity.

Must have a healthy home life.

Must have an outward, evangelistic focus for the church. Must have a proven passion for missions.

Other:  Married, Spiritually disciplined especially in prayer, sacrifice and growing in the Word. Preference, between 35-50 years old.  Able to communicate effectively in an authentic and relevant way.  Extrovert, approachable, servant leader with a pastor’s heart.
